Kaduna State Police Command executed a four-day raid from February 10 to 13, 2026. Officers targeted bandit camps in Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi, and Kauru local government areas. Security teams dislodged several hideouts during the operation.
Fierce gun battles erupted between police and bandits. As a result, officers neutralized several bandits. Some suspects sustained bullet injuries and received medical treatment.
Arrests Disrupt Criminal Networks
Police arrested 17 suspected bandits. The detainees included Ahamdu Bala, Abdullahi Alhaji Fulani, Ado Bayero Reku, Samaila Bala, Nasiru Rabiu, Ibrahim Bello, Jafar Adamu, Nura Abdullahi, Adamu Alhaji Raini, Adamu Haruna, Ado Babwuro, Shuaibu Sa’idu, Isiya Bammi alias Kire, Kabiru Adamu, Habibu Rabiu, Suleiman Adam, and Abubakar Idris.
Additionally authorities apprehended suspected informants and drug suppliers. These arrests aimed to dismantle wider criminal groups. Investigators questioned the suspects for further leads.
Recoveries and Official Assurances

Officers recovered three AK-47 rifles, seven locally fabricated firearms, one English made pistol, and a large quantity of hard drugs. These items linked to bandit operations.
Mansir Hassan, the police public relations officer, stated that several bandit camps were dislodged and many bandits neutralized during exchanges of fire. He added that investigations continued to capture fleeing suspects.
Rabiu Muhammad, the commissioner of police, reassured residents of ongoing intelligence-led operations. He emphasized collaboration with the military, Department of State Services, and other agencies. Muhammad urged the public to provide credible information.
Kayode Adeolu Egbetekun, the inspector general of police, guided the command’s efforts through his vision. Moreover the operation advanced efforts to curb banditry and illegal arms in Kaduna State.
The raids marked a significant step in enhancing security. Residents reported relief following the actions.
