The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo state, as chairman of the central coordination committee for its 2026 national convention.
Uzodinma is also the chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF).
The party announced the appointment in a statement issued on Monday and signed by Ajibola Basiru, its national secretary.
Governors take key roles
Meanwhile, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, governor of Kwara state and chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), will serve as vice-chairman of the committee.
Mai Mala Buni, governor of Yobe state, was named secretary.
According to the statement, the committee has 73 members.
It includes all serving APC governors, some senators, and several founding members of the party.
Party elders, senators included
Notably, party elders such as Bisi Akande, Adams Oshiomhole, Abdullahi Adamu, and Umar Ganduje are members of the committee.
The APC said the national working committee (NWC) constituted the body as part of preparations for the party’s 2026 national convention.
The party added that the committee will coordinate activities and ensure a smooth planning process ahead of the convention.
