Dangote Refinery Offers 84,000 Tons of Jet Fuel and Diesel for March Supply

Africa’s largest refinery, the Dangote Refinery, has issued fresh tenders. To sell about 84,000 tons of jet fuel and gasoil (diesel) for loading in March. Signaling that the facility is ramping up operations and strengthening its presence in both domestic and global fuel markets.

According to industry sources, the move reflects the refinery’s growing production capacity. As it continues to scale operations after gradually increasing output since beginning fuel processing. The tenders include large cargoes of aviation fuel and diesel, two products that are in strong demand across Africa and international trading hubs.

Expanding Fuel Supply

The refinery, owned by Nigerian industrialist Aliko Dangote, has been steadily increasing production volumes. To supply Nigeria’s energy market while also targeting exports to other regions. Analysts say the latest jet fuel tenders demonstrate that the refinery is moving closer to operating at high capacity.

By offering large shipments of jet fuel and diesel. The refinery is positioning itself as a key supplier not only for Nigeria. But also for airlines, shipping companies, and energy traders across West Africa and beyond.

Reducing Fuel Import Dependence

For decades, Nigeria relied heavily on imported refined petroleum products despite being one of Africa’s largest crude oil producers. The Dangote refinery was designed to change that dynamic by processing local crude and supplying refined products domestically.

As the refinery continues to scale production, industry observers believe it could significantly reduce Nigeria’s dependence. On imported diesel, aviation fuel, and petrol while improving the country’s foreign exchange position.

Growing Export Potential

The new tenders also highlight the refinery’s ambition to become a major exporter of refined petroleum products. With a refining capacity of up to 650,000 barrels per day. The facility has the potential to serve markets across Africa, Europe, and parts of Asia.

If production continues to expand at the current pace. The Dangote refinery could play a critical role in reshaping Africa’s energy trade by turning Nigeria into a major hub for refined fuel exports.
