Lagos NURTW Launches ₦500,000 Scholarship Programme for Drivers’ Children

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State has unveiled a new scholarship programme. Aimed at supporting the university education of children of commercial drivers across the state.

Under the initiative, each selected beneficiary will receive ₦500,000 to help fund their tertiary education and reduce the financial burden on transport workers and their families.

Supporting Education for Transport Workers’ Families

The scholarship programme designed to give children of drivers an opportunity. To also pursue higher education and build better career prospects. Leaders of the Lagos NURTW said the initiative reflects the union’s commitment to improving the welfare of its members beyond transportation activities.

According to the union, the programme will help talented students from transport workers’ families access university education and pursue their academic ambitions.
