David Mark, national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has assured party members that the party will participate in the 2027 general election despite ongoing legal challenges.
Mark spoke on Wednesday night after receiving a briefing from the party’s legal team on the recent judgment of the federal high court in Abuja.
“You do not have anything to be afraid of regarding all the litigations before the party,” he said.
“I want to assure you that we shall triumph in all the cases, and we shall be on the ballot for every election.”
He said the party is prepared to challenge the ruling and pursue all legal options.
“We are more than prepared for these cases, and we shall do everything within the ambit of the law to surmount every situation,” he said.
Mark added that he would take an active role in the legal process.
“In this legal battle, though I am not a lawyer, I will lead from the front, and we shall surely triumph,” he said.
The party’s legal team has already filed an appeal against the judgment and applied for a stay of execution.
Earlier on Wednesday, the federal high court, presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, sacked the elected but yet-to-be inaugurated state chairmen of the ADC.
Following the ruling, the party’s legal team briefed Mark and other leaders on its implications and outlined the strategy for the case.
Mark said the party remains focused on its preparations for the 2027 elections and expressed confidence that the courts will resolve the matter in its favour.
