Just weeks earlier, on August 13, 2025, Ruth fell victim to a harrowing accident. While near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, she was struck by a Dangote truck, suffering severe trauma that led to the amputation of one of her legs. Dangote Group Responds with Sympathy
Hours after the announcement, Dangote Group issued a statement expressing profound sadness and reaffirmed their support since the accident occurred. The company confirmed that its officials and insurance partners had been covering all medical and financial costs, even arranging to fly Ruth to India for advanced treatment—pending medical clearance.
They lamented,
“…despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today.”
