‘Tell Wike AMAC Is Not Obia-Akpor… He Can’t Write Votes Here’ — ADC’s Paul Moses

Paul Moses, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairmanship candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), has declared that votes in the council cannot be manipulated.

Moses spoke in a video that has since gone viral on social media ahead of the FCT local council election scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026.

AMAC is one of the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). It covers key districts in Abuja, including Maitama and Asokoro.

‘You Can’t Write Votes in AMAC’

In the video, Moses appeared to address the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike.

“The minister, this is not Obia-Akpor. You can’t write votes in AMAC. He cannot,” he said.

Obio-Akpor is a local government area in Rivers State where Wike previously served as chairman and later as governor of the state.

Moses insisted that the will of AMAC residents would prevail in the forthcoming election.

“Somebody should tell the minister that Dr. Mo says that the will of the people will count,” he added.

‘Our Votes Count’

The ADC candidate also referenced the 2023 general election.

“In terms of protecting the votes, Senator Kingibe is there, Senator Obikam Joshua is there. So our vote does count. We came out in 2023,” he said.

He disclosed that he led protests in Abuja for 23 days after the 2023 polls.

“I led protests here for 23 days. Of course, our vote does count,” he said.

‘We Own This City’

Furthermore, Moses framed the contest as a struggle for the soul of the capital city.

“On Saturday, there’s going to be a new AMAC where boldness, objectivity, decisiveness, and fearlessness will take centre stage. Enough of people dying, enough of poverty, enough of brigandage,” he said.

He added that Abuja belongs to its residents.

“We own this city. You don’t own this city. The city belongs to the people, the suffering masses, the young people listening to me. We own this city,” he said.
