Adeleke Joins Accord Party Ahead of 2026 Re-Election Bid

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially declared that Adeleke joins Accord Party as his new political platform. The governor confirmed that he will seek re-election in 2026 under the Thumb Up Party following his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party.

He made the announcement on Tuesday at the Government House Banquet Hall. National and state leaders of Accord were in attendance to welcome him.

Stakeholders Consulted Before Adeleke Joins Accord

Adeleke revealed that he joined Accord on November 6 after weeks of consultations with political stakeholders and opinion leaders. He said the decision reflects the interest of Osun residents and supporters who seek continuity.

“We intend to pursue a second term in office on the platform of the Accord Party to complete the ongoing delivery of good governance and democratic dividends,” he stated.

The governor added that Accord’s focus on welfarism aligns with his administration’s policies, particularly concerning workers’ welfare and citizens’ well-being.

Governor Says Accord Offers Platform for Progress

Adeleke welcomed the Accord leadership to Osun’s Government House. He described both sides as united in their goals for the state.

He emphasised the need for a united front as preparations for the elections begin. According to him, the Accord Party is positioned “to take over Osun governance and sustain the delivery of good governance.”

The governor said his administration has prioritised policies that improve living conditions. He highlighted achievements in infrastructure and social services as proof of progress.

Adeleke Confident of Victory Under Accord

The governor pledged that the party would run an inclusive structure that respects the will of Osun people.

He outlined that the Accord platform will carry the message of continuity across Osun West, Osun East, and Osun Central.

He concluded by declaring his commitment to Accord as the preferred platform for the state’s future.
