Annabel Schofield, 80s Supermodel and TV Star, Passes Away at 62 After Cancer Battle

Annabel Schofield, a celebrated supermodel of the 1980s who later became a TV star, has died at the age of 62 following a cancer diagnosis.

Schofield rose to fame as the face of major beauty brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Rimmel, and Revlon. Her career skyrocketed internationally after her iconic campaign with Bugle Boy Jeans.

She became one of the top cover models of her time before transitioning to acting. In 1988, she made her on-screen debut in the hit US soap Dallas, playing Laurel Ellis opposite Larry Hagman’s legendary character, J.R. Ewing.

Melissa Richardson, former owner of London’s Take Two Agency, where Schofield was signed, shared a heartfelt tribute.

Richardson Heartfelt Tribute

“She was one of David Bailey’s favorites and appeared in countless shoots for Italian Vogue,” Richardson said. “She was the foundation of Take Two—without her, we wouldn’t have achieved what we did.

“We loved her because she was funny, real, beautiful, and down-to-earth. She never changed from the sweet 17-year-old Welsh girl I first met.”

Born and raised in Llanelli, Wales, Annabel Schofield was introduced to the world of film early on by her father, British film executive John D. Schofield.

In addition to her role in Dallas, she appeared in films like Solar Crisis alongside Charlton Heston. Later, she shifted her focus behind the camera, working as a producer on movies such as The Brothers GrimmDoom, and City of Ember.

In 2010, Annabel Schofield founded Bella Bene Productions, a Burbank-based company specializing in fashion projects, advertisements, and music ventures. She also collaborated creatively with Nick Egan, known for his work with Duran Duran and Oasis.

Fashion remained close to her heart. One of her notable projects was producing a 3D Guerlain campaign featuring Angelina Jolie.

Richardson added, “She was fiercely loyal, caring, and, above all, a stunning beauty. She knew her craft and was simply the best.”
