It seems another Jolie-Pitt child is dropping “Pitt” from their name.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, has removed “Pitt” from his last name in the credits of his latest project with his mother.
Maddox, now 24, worked as an assistant director on Couture, a newly released drama starring Angelina. In the film, Jolie plays Maxine Walker, a woman diagnosed with breast cancer whose life intertwines with two other women during Paris Fashion Week.
When Couture premiered in French theaters on Wednesday, February 25, Maddox credited as “Maddox Jolie,” according to People.
Maddox Jolie-Pitt Officially Drops Pitts
Interestingly, in 2024, Maddox still listed as “Maddox Jolie-Pitt” in the credits for Maria, a film where Jolie portrayed opera singer Maria Callas. However, he has now officially dropped “Pitt” from his name.
Angelina Jolie, 50, shares five other children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt: Pax (22), Zahara (21), Shiloh (19), and twins Vivienne and Knox (17).
Maddox isn’t the only Jolie-Pitt child to make this change. Zahara also dropped “Pitt” from her name during her Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority induction ceremony at Spelman College in Atlanta in 2023. At the event, she referred to herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”
In 2024, Shiloh, Brad Pitt’s biological daughter, followed suit. She removed “Pitt” from her name in the The Outsiders Playbill. Shiloh, who helped her mom produce the Broadway play, credited as “Shiloh Jolie” in the theater magazine.
A source told People that Brad, now 62, is “aware and upset” about Shiloh’s decision to drop his last name.
“He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. He’s never felt more joy than when she born. He always wanted a daughter,” the insider shared.
“The reminders that he’s lost his children are, of course, not easy for Brad. He loves his kids and misses them deeply. It’s very sad.”
