Quentin Griffiths, 58, a multi-millionaire and co-founder of online fashion giant Asos. Has tragically died after falling from the 17th floor of his condominium in Pattaya, Thailand.
Emergency responders discovered Griffiths’ body on the ground below his balcony. Police reported no signs of a struggle inside the apartment but have not ruled out foul play. Forensic tests are ongoing, and the exact cause of death will only be confirm. After a full post-mortem examination, which could take months.
The incident comes amid reports of a dispute with Griffiths’ Thai ex-wife, who allegedly stole £500,000 from a business they ran together. Last year, Griffiths reportedly arrested after she accused him of forging documents to sell land and shares without her knowledge. He denied the claims and released after questioning. The investigation was still active at the time of his death.
A family source told The Sun: “It’s a real mystery. The phrase ‘suspicious circumstances’ has been used, but we just don’t know yet.”
Griffiths co-founded Asos in 2000 alongside Nick Robertson and Andrew Regan. Helping the company grow into a £3 billion global retailer. Its designs have been worn by high-profile figures like the Princess of Wales and Michelle Obama.
After stepping down as marketing director in 2005, Griffiths sold shares in 2010. Earning £15 million, and received another stock windfall in 2013. However, he later sued his accountants at BDO, claiming their poor advice on tax matters cost him over £4 million.
Griffiths moved to Thailand in 2007 after divorcing his first wife. He remarried a Thai woman and had two children, but the couple separated several years ago.
