Lookman underwent a medical examination at the Vithas-Invictum High Performance Sports Medicine Centre in Madrid. He passed the tests successfully. Following the medical, Lookman visited the club’s offices at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium.
There Miguel Ángel Gil, the chief executive officer of Atlético Madrid, greeted him. Lookman signed his contract in the presence of club officials. The signing confirmed his commitment to the team.
Lookman’s Early Career
Ademola Lookman began his professional career at Charlton Athletic in 2015. The London-born player scored 10 goals in 45 appearances for the English club. Everton signed him in 2017 for a reported 11 million pounds.
He made 36 appearances for Everton and scored one goal. Lookman then moved to RB Leipzig on loan in 2018. He impressed with five goals in 11 games during that spell.
Moves and Achievements

RB Leipzig made Lookman’s transfer permanent in 2019. However he struggled for regular play and went on loans to Fulham and Leicester City. At Fulham, he scored four goals in 34 matches. Leicester saw him net eight goals in 42 appearances.
In 2022, Atalanta signed Lookman. He excelled in Italy and scored 55 goals in 137 games. His highlight came in the 2024 Europa League final. Lookman scored a hat-trick as Atalanta defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 to win the title.
Moreover Lookman represented Nigeria internationally. He earned 41 caps and scored 11 goals for the Super Eagles. In 2024, he won the African Footballer of the Year award.
