Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named a 28-man Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Moreover, Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Stanley Nwabali headline the list. Chelle said the squad has the strength to compete in every match.
Key Players Make the Super Eagles Squad
Chelle included several experienced players. Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Zaidu Sanusi and Chidozie Awaziem lead the defence. In midfield, Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru hold key roles. Furthermore, Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Simon Moses carry the team’s attack.
Francis Uzoho also returned to the squad. In addition, defender Igoh Ogbu and striker Paul Onuachu earned recalls after strong club form.
New Faces Join the Super Eagles Squad
The coach added fresh talents to the team. Ryan Alebiosu, Usman Muhammed, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Tochukwu Nnadi and Salim Fago Lawal received their first invitations. Consequently, the group now has more depth, energy and tactical options.
Super Eagles Prepare for Tough Group Games
Nigeria will face Egypt in a friendly on 16 December in Cairo. Afterwards, the team will fly to Fès for their Group C campaign. The Super Eagles open against Tanzania on 23 December. They meet Tunisia on 27 December and then Uganda on 30 December. Therefore, Chelle expects the team to build momentum early.
