Meanwhile, the doctors’ strike led by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) entered its third day on Monday. The group began an indefinite strike on Saturday to demand improved working conditions and the full implementation of earlier agreements.

NARD President, Dr. Mohammad Suleiman, said the action became necessary after the government repeatedly failed to honour previous promises. He urged authorities to act swiftly to prevent further disruption in hospitals across the country.

However, they warn that sustained dialogue and transparency are key to restoring trust between the government and health professionals.
