The EFCC has ordered the arrest of dismissed officer Olakunle Alex Folarin. Who appeared on Lege Miami’s matchmaking show while still holding EFCC property.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has strongly condemned the recent behavior of one of its former employees, Olakunle Alex Folarin. He was seen taking part in a popular matchmaking show on social media, hosted by the well-known entertainer Lege Miami. This appearance has raised serious concerns for the anti-corruption agency.
Why was Olakunle Alex Folarin dismissed
Folarin was dismissed from the EFCC after investigations revealed that he forged his academic certificates. Despite being terminated, he has not yet returned some official EFCC property, including his identity card. Because of this, the commission has ordered his immediate arrest.
The EFCC made this announcement on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday. According to the statement, Folarin worked as a driver at the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate before his dismissal. The agency emphasized that his actions do not represent the EFCC or its values.
EFCC Executive Chairman releases statement
In the statement, EFCC Executive Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede directed that Folarin should be taken into custody as soon as possible. He also reminded the public that Folarin’s post-dismissal activities should not be linked to the EFCC in any way.
