EPL Title Race: Bournemouth Shock Arsenal at Emirates

Bournemouth’s win over Arsenal has reignited the EPL title race.

The EPL title race took a dramatic turn as AFC Bournemouth stunned league leaders Arsenal FC with a 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium. Midfielder Alex Scott scored the decisive goal in the 74th minute, finishing a well-worked move to seal a crucial away win.

Bournemouth had earlier taken the lead through teenage forward Eli Junior Kroupi, who converted from close range in the first half. Arsenal responded with an equaliser from the penalty spot, but struggled to find rhythm despite making several attacking changes in the second half.

The defeat ends Arsenal’s nine-game unbeaten run in the league. They remain top with 70 points from 32 matches, but Manchester City now have a chance to close the gap. Pep Guardiola’s side sit nine points behind with two games in hand and a crucial clash against Arsenal coming up next weekend.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta described the result as a “big punch,” admitting his team fell below expected standards. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola praised his side’s composure and performance in a high-pressure match.

The result adds pressure to Arsenal’s title push, especially after recent cup setbacks and inconsistent performances. Bournemouth, meanwhile, move up the table and boost their hopes of European qualification.

The EPL title race is now wide open, with momentum shifting ahead of a decisive run of fixtures.
