Eric Dane Leaves Heartfelt Final Message for His Daughters Before His Passing at 53

American actor Eric Dane, known for his roles in Euphoria and Grey’s Anatomy, passed away at the age of 53 on February 19 after a brief battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Dane was diagnosed with the degenerative disease in April 2025. Throughout his journey, he openly shared his experience, dedicating himself to raising awareness about ALS, which impacts an estimated 350,000 people worldwide.

Before his death, Eric Dane recorded an emotional hour-long message for his daughters, Billie and Georgia. The recording, described as his “last words,” was filled with heartfelt advice and encouragement for his teenage children.

In one poignant moment, Dane urged his daughters to follow their dreams and embrace life fully.

“Billie and Georgia, these words are for you,” Dane began. “I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall, we had a blast, didn’t we? Remember all the times we spent at the beach—the two of you, me, and Mom—in Malibu, Santa Monica, Hawaii, Mexico.”

Reflecting on cherished memories, he continued: “I see you now, playing in the ocean for hours—my water babies. Those days, pun intended, were heaven.”

Dane then shared four life lessons he learned from his battle with ALS, hoping his daughters would take them to heart.

1. Live in the Present

“Live now. Right now, in the present,” he said. “It’s hard, but I learned to do it. For years, I would get lost in my head, stuck in worry, self-pity, shame, and doubt. I replayed decisions, second-guessed myself—’I shouldn’t have done this. I never should’ve done that.’ No more.”

2. Fall in Love

Dane encouraged his daughters to find passion and joy in life. “Fall in love—not just with a person, though I recommend that too. Fall in love with something. Find the thing that makes you want to get up in the morning.”

3. Choose Your Friends Wisely

“Find your people and let them find you,” he advised. “Give yourselves to them. The best of them will give back to you—no judgment, no conditions, no questions asked.”

4. Fight and Never Give Up

Finally, Dane urged Billie and Georgia to fight for what they believe in and never give up.

Eric Dane’s final message is a testament to his love for his daughters and his determination to leave them with wisdom and strength, even in the face of his own struggles. His words serve as a powerful reminder to live fully, love deeply, and cherish the moments that matter most.
