Ex-Arsenal Midfielder Partey Faces Two Additional Rape Allegations

Thomas Partey, a former Arsenal midfielder, faced two additional rape charges. Authorities issued the charges after a new alleged victim reported incidents from 2020 to police in August 2025.

New Allegations Emerge

Prosecutors charged Partey with two counts of rape against a fourth woman. The Crown Prosecution Service authorized the charges based on evidence from the Metropolitan Police investigation. This development followed Partey’s earlier not guilty plea to previous accusations.

Partey, who now plays for Villarreal in Spain, received summons to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13. The court scheduled the hearing to address the new charges separately from his ongoing case.

Previous Charges and Plea

In July, police charged Partey with five counts of rape against two women and one count of sexual assault against a third woman. The alleged offences occurred between 2021 and 2022 during his time at Arsenal.

Partey appeared at Southwark Crown Court in September and pleaded not guilty to all six charges. The court set his trial date for November 2, 2026. He remained on bail pending the proceedings.

Career Transition

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020. He left the club in June 2025 when his contract expired, amid the initial allegations becoming public.

Villarreal signed the 32-year-old Ghanaian international to a two-year deal in August 2025. The club faced some fan backlash over the decision but proceeded with the transfer.

Legal Proceedings Continue

The new charges brought the total number of alleged victims to four. Partey’s legal team prepared for the additional court appearance while managing the November trial.

Authorities emphasized that the investigations remained independent. Police encouraged victims to report incidents, which led to the latest complaint.

In conclusion, Partey maintained his innocence through his representatives. The cases highlighted ongoing scrutiny in professional sports regarding player conduct.
