Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Broda Shaggi has reportedly hospitalised after sustaining an alleged gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
The entertainer, whose real name is Samuel Perry, said to have injured on Sunday afternoon. This was while shooting a skit with members of his production crew under the Sango-Ota bridge.
Rushed to Hospital for Emergency Treatment
According to reports, the comedian sustained an injury to his thigh during the incident. He quickly transported to Blooming Care Hospital in Lagos, where he received initial medical attention.
Due to the nature of the injury, he later referred to Duchess Hospital located in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja for further treatment. Sources say the comedian is currently receiving care and is recovering.
Police Confirm Hospital Alert
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that authorities alerted by the hospita. After a patient with a gunshot injury was brought in for treatment.
Officers who arrived at the hospital reportedly found the comedian on a stretcher with a visible injury to his thigh.
Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi explained that the incident itself happened in Sango-Ota. Which falls outside the Lagos command’s jurisdiction, but authorities have begun preliminary inquiries.
Ogun Police Yet to Receive Official Report
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command stated that the incident had not yet formally reported to them at the time of the statement.

Broda Shaggi is one of Nigeria’s most recognizable digital comedians, known for his viral skits and the popular character “Shaggi.” The news of his injury has sparked concern among fans across Nigeria, many of whom are awaiting official updates on his condition.
