Social media is buzzing with anger after reports surfaced about a landlord allegedly renting out a single one-room apartment on Camber Street, Lagos Island, to multiple tenants.
According to online sources, as many as 50 people were duped into believing they had secured the same apartment. Each tenant reportedly paid rent, unaware of the scam.
The incident has drawn widespread criticism, with many Nigerians calling it a shocking example of exploitation, especially during a time when affordable housing is already a major challenge in the country.
One social media user summed up the outrage, saying:
“A landlord allegedly collected rent from 50 different people for one tiny apartment on Camber Street. This is beyond ridiculous!”
The case has also reignited conversations about the growing problem of rental scams in densely populated areas like Lagos Island, where the demand for housing far outweighs supply.
