“Shettima Pushes Skills Revolution as Nigeria Prepares for WorldSkills 2026”

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called for a stronger focus on harnessing the creativity and resilience of young Nigerians through worldskills to power the country’s industrial transformation.

He highlighted that talents found in everyday spaces—streets, schools. And workshops—must properly developed and channeled into productive sectors to boost economic growth and innovation.

WorldSkills Nigeria Committee Takes Center Stage

As part of this vision, preparations are underway for the inauguration of the National Working Committee for WorldSkills Nigeria.

According to Shettima, the committee’s role goes beyond simply preparing Nigeria for global competitions. Instead, it expected to build a sustainable system that identifies, trains, and nurtures skilled professionals across various technical fields.
