Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers took a Mexican national into custody on March 23, 2026. The officers arrested Bernabe Terrazas-Garcia upon his release from a Kentucky prison. He subsequently faced deportation proceedings.
ICE officers transported Terrazas-Garcia to the Laurel County Detention Center. The booking occurred on March 24, 2026. He was seventy years old at the time of his arrest. Furthermore, the officers initiated removal proceedings against him.
Terrazas-Garcia received his first conviction in 1977. A New Mexico court found him guilty of murder, burglary and conspiracy. Additionally, he secured another conviction in 1982. That conviction stemmed from his escape from prison and two counts of aggravated robbery.
As reported by ALO360, Terrazas-Garcia entered the United States without legal authorization. He maintained this status throughout his nearly five decade residence in the country. ICE classified him as a serial criminal based on his extensive felony record. The agency subsequently transferred him to immigration custody to await a deportation decision.
