Innocent Ike Confirmed as Access Holdings New CEO

A bold new leadership era begins: Innocent Ike takes the helm at Access Holdings

A fresh chapter has dawned for Access Holdings Plc. On August 29, 2025, the company ushered in a new era as Mr. Innocent Ike officially assumed the role of Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, following full regulatory approval. This moment marks not just a change of guard—it’s a pivotal moment in the company’s evolving narrative.

Why this transition matters more than ever?

As the financial holding giant continues to deepen its influence across Africa, leadership clarity becomes paramount. Mr. Ike replaces Ms. Bolaji Agbede, who adeptly led the company during an 18‑month acting tenure, shepherding it through one of its most challenging phases. Now, supported by regulatory compliance, Access Holdings stands poised to move forward under substantive leadership.

The legacy of resilience: Bolaji Agbede’s steady hand

Taking over in the wake of Herbert Wigwe’s passing in February 2024, Ms. Agbede proved her mettle. Under her leadership, the company:

  1. Maintained a stable, motivated workforce
  2. Executed a ₦351 billion rights issue
  3. Organized two seamless Annual General Meetings circumventing turbulence

Her contributions earned her heartfelt praise from Access Holdings’ Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, who described her efforts as “invaluable in navigating the Company through challenges and opportunities.”
