He described the attacks as barbaric and unacceptable. Kwankwaso urged security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent future incidents.
Attack Claims Multiple Lives
The explosions occurred in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, and resulted in several casualties. Reports confirmed that the blasts targeted civilian areas and caused significant destruction. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to assist victims and secure the area.
Kwankwaso Demands Justice for Victims
Kwankwaso expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased. He called on the federal government to overhaul its security strategy in the Northeast region. Additionally, he emphasized the need for improved intelligence gathering and community cooperation to combat terrorism effectively.
Political Leader Stresses Unity Against Terror
The NNPP leader warned that continued attacks threaten national stability and economic development. He appealed to political leaders across party lines to support security initiatives. Furthermore, he encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to authorities.
Kwankwaso issued a statement following the attacks. He said, “These bombings represent a cowardly assault on innocent Nigerians. The perpetrators must face the full weight of the law.” He added, “We cannot allow terrorists to dictate the pace of our national life. Security agencies must act swiftly and decisively.”
