Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu Presents Official Vehicles to Senior Public Officers

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on March 25, 2026, presented official vehicles to Level 17 officers in the state public service. The governor described the gesture as a practical step to improve service delivery across the state’s bureaucracy.

Governor Emphasizes Commitment to Public Service

Sanwo-Olu spoke during the presentation ceremony in Lagos. He stated that the initiative formed part of his administration’s broader strategy to strengthen the state’s civil service. Furthermore, he noted that equipping senior officers with official vehicles would enable them to discharge their duties more effectively.”

The provision of these vehicles is not merely a welfare package,” Sanwo-Olu said. “It represents our firm commitment to creating an enabling environment for our public servants to perform optimally.”

Officials Welcome Government Initiative

The beneficiaries received the vehicles at the State House in Alausa. In addition, senior government officials attended the event. The Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Afolabi Ayantayo, commended the governor for prioritizing the welfare of civil servants.

Ayantayo said, “This intervention demonstrates that the governor values the contributions of our senior officers. Consequently, we expect improved productivity and greater dedication to duty.”

Policy Aligns with Administrative Reform

The vehicle presentation followed recent reforms in the Lagos State public service. Meanwhile, the government had earlier implemented salary adjustments and training programs for civil servants. The latest gesture targeted specifically at Level 17 officers marked a continuation of these efforts.

As reported by ALO360, the vehicles comprised various models suitable for official functions. The governor urged the recipients to maintain the vehicles properly and use them solely for government business.

Officers Pledge Enhanced Performance

One of the beneficiaries, Permanent Secretary Adewunmi Adekoya, responded on behalf of the officers. Adekoya thanked the governor for the gesture and promised that the vehicles would facilitate better service delivery.”

We appreciate this show of confidence in our abilities,” Adekoya said. “Therefore, we shall redouble our efforts to justify this investment in our operational capacity.”

The presentation ceremony concluded with a inspection of the vehicles by the governor and his cabinet members.
