Lynette Hooker is missing in the Bahamas after going overboard during a boat trip, with authorities now arresting her husband as part of an ongoing investigation. The incident occurred near Elbow Cay in the Abaco Islands on Saturday evening.

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the 55-year-old Michigan resident was travelling with her husband, Brian Hooker, when she reportedly fell from a small dinghy during rough weather. The couple had been heading to their yacht when strong winds and currents disrupted their journey.

Her husband told investigators that Lynette Hooker was pulled away by the current, and he was unable to reach her. Authorities said she was holding the boat key at the time, which caused the engine to shut off after she fell into the water.

The Lynette Hooker missing Bahamas case escalated after Brian Hooker was arrested as part of a criminal investigation into the incident. His attorney has stated that he denies any wrongdoing and is cooperating with authorities.

Search efforts are ongoing, with support expected from the United States Coast Guard as officials continue efforts to locate her.

The case has raised concerns about safety during maritime travel, especially in unpredictable weather conditions.

The Lynette Hooker missing Bahamas investigation remains active as authorities work to determine what happened and continue the search at sea.
