Man United Draw 4–4 With Bournemouth

Manchester United missed the chance to climb to fifth in the Premier League after surrendering the lead three times in a dramatic 4–4 draw with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Although United have lost just once in their last 10 matches, manager Ruben Amorim will rue another home result that slipped away. Still, the game showcased the most fluent attacking display of his tenure so far.

Amad Diallo opened the scoring early after Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic failed to deal with Matheus Cunha’s header. However, Antoine Semenyo equalised against the run of play.

United regained control before the break when Casemiro headed in from a corner in stoppage time, giving the hosts a 2–1 half-time lead.

Bournemouth Fight Back After the Break

The second half began disastrously for United. Evanilson scored just 37 seconds after the restart. Moments later, Marcus Tavernier curled in a free-kick to put Bournemouth ahead.

United responded strongly. Bruno Fernandes curled a superb free-kick into the top corner. Soon after, Cunha swept home his second goal for the club after a defensive error.

However, United’s defensive frailties resurfaced once again.

Late Drama Seals Draw

With six minutes left, Eli Junior Kroupi produced a fine finish to make it 4–4. Bournemouth nearly stole the win in stoppage time, but goalkeeper Senne Lammens twice denied David Brooks with brilliant saves.

The result extends Bournemouth’s winless run to seven matches, though the point lifts them to 13th. Meanwhile, United move into sixth place on goal difference.

Amorim Encouraged Despite Defensive Issues

Despite the frustration, Amorim will take positives from his side’s attacking improvement. United created chances freely and looked dangerous throughout.

However, the absence of defenders Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt exposed ongoing defensive weaknesses. As a result, United dropped more points at home after recent struggles against Everton and West Ham.

On a chaotic night in Manchester, both teams entertained, but neither side left fully satisfied.
