The Minix NR660 LP is a new mini PC that the company has introduced. It’s a different version of the non-LP variant with some notable downgrades. This version also costs more, with the initial MSRP being $515.
Minix has also launched a new variant of the NR660 mini PC. But with an LP as a suffix to the model. Its version, in comparison to the non-LP version, has soldered RAM. A feature which may appear to be a good idea due to the current shortage of memory. Although this renders the RAM non-upgradable.
The positive aspect is that the mini PC equipp with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Which is sufficient enough to perform most basic tasks. Regarding the storage, Minix is providing the standard of installing up to 8TB of PCIe 4.0 storage on the two slots of the M.2. But it comes with a 512GB PCIe 3.0 SSD (1TB TeamGroup MP44L curr. $166.99 on Amazon).
A port choice is another significant modification. The NR660 LP lacks the USB4 port that is a downgrade to the non-LP option. Which enables users to connect high-speed, high-performance peripherals, such as an eGPU, to the mini PC. Naturally, even the port setup is still good, particularly to the users who may not necessarily need a USB4 port. It has these ports:

- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
- 2x 1G Ethernet
- 1x 3.5 mm audio
The NR660 LP features the same AMD processor as the non-LP model under the hood. To be more precise, the mini PC includes the Ryzen 5 6600H. Which is a Zen 3+ processor with the Radeon 660M iGPU. Although it is an old CPU, the processor is capable of smoothly performing most tasks, and the inbuilt graphics card is also good in some gaming activities.
Other notable features of the Minix NR660 LP include compact design, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, and triple display output support. Although the mini PC is present in the official store, it cannot be purchase as yet. The prices is display at 515, and this may be a dummy price. As a point of reference, the 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB of SSD is sold as a non-LP version, which is priced at $499 at the official store.
