Crew Details
The plane carried six crew members. Sergio Lora, the Bolivian Air Force General, stated that rescuers had not found two crew members by late Friday. He added, “The aircraft was arriving from the eastern city of Santa Cruz where it had picked up its cargo.”
“The banknotes had no legal tender status since they were about to enter circulation and still lacked serial numbers.” He noted that the bills headed to La Paz.

Marcelo Salinas, the Defense Minister, confirmed the details. He said, “The Hercules C-130 plane was transporting newly printed Bolivian currency when it landed and veered off the runway.” MeanwhilePavel Tovar, the fire chief, reported the deaths. He stated, “At least 15 people died.” Tovar added that the crash damaged at least 15 vehicles.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities investigated the cause. Salinas mentioned that experts examined the incident. Additionally, officials suspended flights at the terminal temporarily. The probe continued amid reports of inclement weather.
