The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has busted a secret laboratory where Colorado (Colos), a synthetic cannabis strain, was being produced inside a house at Ajao Estate, Isolo, Lagos.
Officers recovered freshly made Colos, several precursor chemicals, and equipment used in drug production. They also arrested 30-year-old Stephen Kelechi Imoh, the alleged owner of the lab.
Intelligence Gathering Leads to Discovery
Months of surveillance led to the operation. In March and May 2025, NDLEA officers intercepted several Colos shipments in Lagos. Those findings showed that production had started locally instead of through imports. On October 30, 2025, NDLEA stormed the Ajao Estate apartment used for the illegal operation. Officers seized 16.2 kg of Colos, 1.7 kg of ADB-CHMNACA Cannabinol, 4.5 kg of Potassium Carbonate, and 91 litres of Dibromobutane.
Lagos Raids Continue
Two days later, NDLEA operatives raided the home of Afeez Salisu, also known as Malu, in Mushin, Lagos. They found 16 compressed blocks of Ghana Loud and bottles of Colorado weighing 16.4 kg.
Music Artist Caught with Drug Shipment
A 20-year-old musician, Godspower George Osahenrumwen, better known as Steady Boy, was also caught while picking up a shipment of Loud hidden in three cartons of bathtubs imported from the United States. The cargo arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) on October 28 aboard a DHL flight. NDLEA officers arrested Steady Boy at Bougain Villa, Primewater Gardens 2, Lekki, while his manager, Zion Osazee Omigie (alias Zee Money), remains on the run.
More Drug Seizures Nationwide
Across the country, NDLEA teams intercepted multiple drug consignments in Kaduna, Ogun, Ondo, Kwara, Edo, Taraba, and Bauchi States. The seizures included thousands of Tramadol pills, Exol-5, Skunk, and litres of Skuchies, a mix of cannabis and opioids. In Kaduna alone, officers stopped 84,710 Tramadol capsules and 32,946 bottles of Akuskura, a new psychoactive substance. Similar busts took place in Edo and Ondo, where operatives recovered over 2,800 kg of Skunk.
NDLEA Vows to Dismantle Drug Networks
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), praised the officers for their dedication and warned drug cartels that no part of Nigeria is safe for their trade. “We will continue to dismantle every identified drug network and ensure offenders lose all proceeds of crime,” Marwa stated.
