The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) continues its battle against illegal drugs. Officers recently made key arrests nationwide. These actions target traffickers during the busy festive season.
The Arrest at Seme Border
NDLEA officers arrested a 48-year-old Beninese woman named Leokadi Josu at the Seme border in Badagry, Lagos State. This happened on Thursday, December 18, 2025. She tried to enter Nigeria with 3,400 tablets of tramadol 225mg. Authorities quickly detained her and started an investigation.
Additionally, tramadol poses serious health risks when abused. The agency aims to stop such drugs from reaching communities.
Other Major Seizures

Furthermore, officers intercepted Abdullahi Adamu along the Okene-Lokoja highway on December 19. They found 28.4 kilograms of skunk and Colorado cannabis in his vehicle.
In Oyo State, agents seized 125,000 tramadol capsules and 1,800 ampoules of pentazocine from a bus. They also arrested two men with 185.4 kilograms of skunk in Ibadan. Similar operations occurred in Osun, Kaduna, and Lagos. For example, a woman in Lagos kept 23.5 kilograms of cocaine worth over N5 billion.
Leadership’s Response
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa praised the officers for their work. He urged them to stay alert and professional. These efforts protect Nigerians from drug dangers. In conclusion, NDLEA’s actions disrupt smuggling networks. The public can help by reporting suspicious activities.
