Nicki Minaj has shared her thoughts on transgender issues.
She expressed that while she believes everyone has the right to make their own choices, she does not support gender-affirming surgeries for minors.
In a discussion with Katie Miller, Nicki stated that she fully supports transgender adults who want control over their own bodies, saying, “More power to them.”
However, her views differ when it comes to children. Nicki Minaj made it clear that she strongly opposes gender-affirming surgeries for minors. Describing it as a completely different matter compared to decisions made by adults.
To emphasize her perspective, she referenced her own family. She went on explaining that she wouldn’t allow her 17-year-old daughter to get breast implants.
She emphasized, “I personally don’t have an issue with the trans part of the LGBT at all … I am the biggest advocate for adults being able to do whatever the heck they want to do. They’re adults. I don’t care.”
“I wouldn’t even allow my 17-year-old daughter to get breast implants … So if you wouldn’t let a child get breast implants, you’re not going to want them to have any kind of surgery because we all know the brain is not developed,” she explained.
Nicki Minaj expressed difficulty understanding how parents could consent to such surgeries for their children. She argue that these decisions are best left until adulthood.
