Niger State Gov Sacks 30 Special Advisers in Restructuring Move

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, has approved the disengagement of 30 special advisers as part of a restructuring move in his administration.

The decision aims to improve efficiency and strengthen governance across the state.

Restructuring Under New Niger Agenda

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, confirmed the development on Tuesday.

He said the move aligns with Governor Bago’s New Niger Agenda, which focuses on reforming government operations and service delivery.

“The termination of their appointments is to allow the governor to rejig and reposition portfolios,” Ibrahim said.

He added that the goal is to make governance more effective and efficient.

Announcement at Executive Council Meeting

Governor Bago announced the decision during his first State Executive Council meeting with newly inaugurated commissioners.

The meeting took place at the Government House in Minna.

However, the government did not disclose whether the affected advisers would be replaced or reassigned.

Governor Commends Affected Advisers

Despite the decision, the governor thanked the advisers for their service to the state.

He acknowledged their contributions to the administration’s progress.

Governor Bago also wished them success in their future endeavours.

The move forms part of broader efforts to streamline governance and improve policy implementation in Niger State.
