The commission disclosed the information in a statement. Officials added that the overseas enrolment programme allowed eligible applicants to complete biometric registration through licensed partners.
The National Identity Management Commission introduced the overseas enrolment programme in 2019. The commission established a network of licensed partners from that time.
Licensed partners operated the centres across Africa Asia Europe and North America. Citizens accessed services at these accredited locations without delay.

Enrolled Citizens Access NIN Digitally
Enrolled Nigerians abroad accessed their National Identification Number through the NIMC Mobile Digital ID App. The app remained available on both Android and iOS devices.Additionally, applicants visited the nearest accredited centre with required documents. They completed biometric capture and received confirmation through the system.
Commission Directs Citizens to Website
The commission advised prospective applicants to visit its NIMC official website for details. Officials directed citizens to identify authorised enrolment locations in their countries of residence.
The programme helped incorporate more Nigerians into the national identity database. Officials continued to monitor services for citizens living overseas.
