Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have continued to make significant gains in the ongoing fight against North East terrorism. Recently, soldiers neutralised nine terrorists and recovered five AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and other logistics items.
COAS urges sustained offensive operations
According to the spokesperson of Operation Hadin Kai, Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, the operation followed directives from the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-General Waidi Shaibu. Earlier, the COAS had instructed troops during his last visit to the North East to maintain pressure on terrorist remnants through aggressive clearance and offensive actions across all fronts.
Details of the encounter
Lt.-Col. Uba said, “Troops of Sector 1, in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), engaged Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on 12 November 2025 at Yanaga Ari in Mafa Local Government Area, Borno State. During the clash, nine terrorists were neutralised. The troops recovered five AK-47 rifles, several rounds of ammunition, and other logistics items.”
Military high command praises troops
He added that the military high command commended the troops for their “impressive gallantry and proactiveness.” Furthermore, officers were urged to remain focused, vigilant, and committed to restoring lasting peace in the North East.
