NSC (National Sports Commission), announced the dates for the 3rd National Para Games. Director General of the National Sports Commission Bukola Olopade made the announcement.
Moreover, he confirmed that the event would bring together para athletes from across the federation. “The 3rd National Para Games will hold from March 26 to April 3 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, bringing together para athletes from across the federation in what the commission described as a critical step in building a sustainable pipeline of champions for international competition,” Director General of the National Sports Commission Bukola Olopade said.
Director General Stressed Equal Focus On Para Sports
Additionally, Director General of the National Sports Commission Bukola Olopade highlighted the commission’s goals. He added that the games reflected the commission’s commitment to placing para sports on equal footing with every other sporting discipline in Nigeria.
As a result, more than 3,000 athletes from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory would take part.
Commission Formed Organising Committee
Furthermore, the National Sports Commission set up a Local Organising Committee for the event. The committee prepared venues and logistics at Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
Consequently, the nine-day championship would feature multiple para sports and serve as a platform for talent discovery.
