‘If You Don’t Count Our Vote We’d Count You’ — Obi Blows Hot

Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has warned that votes must count in the 2027 general election.

He declared that anyone who tampers with the process will face the full weight of the law.

In a post on X, Obi said Nigerians will resist and reject any attempt to manipulate the ballot.

“Unlike in the past, in 2027 our votes must count,” he wrote.

“All those who are there not to count the votes will be counted among those destroying Nigeria.”

Specifically, he urged voters to remain at their polling units after casting their ballots and monitor the counting process closely.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential hopeful told his supporters to personally witness the collation and transmission of results to safeguard the process.

“This,” he said, “will protect our democracy.”

“Those who refuse to allow the votes count will be made to count the full weight of the law against rigging,” he warned.

“If you do not count our votes, we will count you among those who destroy our democracy, thereby destroying our future, and you must answer to the law.”

FG Don’t Want Me to be a Candidate

Meanwhile, Obi accused the federal government of actively working to block his political ambition.

Speaking in Akwa Ibom on Saturday, he told his supporters that powerful interests do not want him to emerge as a candidate under any political party in 2027.

However, he vowed to contest regardless.

“They don’t want me to be a candidate of any political party, but I will be,” he said.

Obi also criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting the party is uneasy ahead of the next election.

According to him, the APC remains jittery despite controlling about 30 governors and commanding a majority in the Senate.
