Monday Okpebholo, the Edo state governor, has invited Reuben Abati and Rufai Oseni, anchors on Arise TV, to visit Edo state and inspect projects executed by his administration.
Okpebholo said the journalists would likely support Bola Ahmed Tinubu after seeing the projects on ground.
The governor spoke on Wednesday in Benin City during a defection event where members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
‘Come and See the Projects’
In a video that has since gone viral, the governor said he would personally take the journalists to project sites across the state.
“I will use this opportunity to invite Rufai and Reuben Abati of Arise TV. I will also write you a special letter, take them from one project to another project. Two days may not be enough to go round, but I will show them a few sites,” he said.
According to him, the visit would demonstrate that the projects being executed in the state are practical and visible.
‘You Will Vote for Tinubu’
Okpebholo said the journalists would change their views after the tour.
“By the time you spend two days in Edo, you will vote for Asiwaju,” he said, referring to Tinubu.
He also defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, especially the removal of fuel subsidy.
According to the governor, funds saved from the policy now support development projects across states.
