Oyo State Police Command officers raided an apartment in Ibadan and seized large quantities of suspected illicit drugs. They acted on credible intelligence that pinpointed the location as a stockpiling site.
Operation Details
Detectives verified the information and conducted a thorough search of the apartment along Abanise Street in the Academy area of Olomi. Additionally they examined the immediate surroundings. The raid occurred without the suspect’s presence.
Seizures Recovered
Police recovered nine bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.7016bf Furthermore they seized 101 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Canadian Loud. Officers also secured other hard and illicit drugs as exhibits.
Suspect at Large
Oluwadamilare Adedayo, the suspect linked to the apartment, evaded capture during the operation. As a result, authorities launched intensive surveillance and a manhunt to apprehend him.
Police Statements
Ayanlade Olayinka, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the details in a statement. “A thorough search of the apartment and its immediate surroundings was conducted, during which nine bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 101 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Canadian Loud, as well as other hard and illicit drugs were recovered and secured as exhibits,” Olayinka said.
Femi Haruna, the Commissioner of Police for Oyo State Command, ordered the pursuit. Haruna commended Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police, for strategic leadership and support in intelligence gathering.
“The crackdown is part of a proactive framework to stem the circulation of illicit drugs, which often catalyze violent crimes,” Haruna stated.

The command praised collaboration with security agencies and stakeholders. Moreover officials urged residents to provide timely information. They highlighted the toll free emergency line 615 for reporting suspicious activities.
