Serenity Royale Hospital in Abuja earlier distanced itself from claims that it released a report on Regina Daniels’ alleged substance abuse. The viral document carried the signature of Adekunle Adesina, the hospital’s managing director and head of clinical services. It also stated that she faced a substance use disorder and would begin a home-based detox programme on September 24, 2025.
Ned Nwoko Confirms the Report Is Genuine
Ned Nwoko issued a statement on Saturday through X to address the situation. He explained that the rehabilitation centre did not leak the documents. The centre only clarified that the records were authentic. Nwoko added that the toxicology results revealed extremely dangerous levels of multiple substances.
Toxicology Results Reveal Multiple Substances
According to Nwoko, the tests showed marijuana, cocaine, morphine, opiates, and alcohol in her system. He described the levels as life-threatening. Another medical report from Nizamiye Hospital dated October 3 also stated that the actress arrived unconscious after an overdose.
Family Interference Reportedly Hindered Treatment
Nwoko alleged that Regina’s siblings interfered with her rehabilitation. Their actions, he claimed, included giving her alcohol and weed during treatment. Such interference made recovery impossible and disrupted the therapy process. He noted that her recent behaviour showed emotional instability and that his concern for their children influenced his approach.
Why the Situation Can No Longer Stay Private
The severity of the substances found in her system and the medical emergency that followed, he said, made privacy unrealistic. Nwoko stressed that Regina now needs consistent support, professional treatment, and protection. Everyone around her, he added, must stop enabling or encouraging harmful behaviour.
Background: The Conflict Between Regina and Nwoko
The conflict began in October when a video showed Regina crying and accusing Nwoko of abuse. He responded by claiming she struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. She later admitted to using hard drugs but alleged that Nwoko enabled her addiction as a form of control.
