I Was Threatened for Reporting Will Smith’s S*xual Misconduct – Brian King Joseph

Brian King Joseph, a performer, says he faced threats after reporting what he described as s*xual misconduct involving Hollywood actor Will Smith. As a result, he decided to speak publicly to resist intimidation and encourage other victims.

However, Joseph said legal restrictions stop him from sharing full details. Still, he stressed that no one should face threats, blame, or retaliation for reporting misconduct at work.

Will Smith allegation linked to major tour

Earlier this year, Joseph said he secured a performance role on a major tour with a prominent industry figure. Initially, he described the opportunity as a proud moment. However, the situation later changed.

“Earlier this year I was hired to be a performer on a major major tour with somebody who was huge in the industry,” he said. “So I was excited, you know, proud of myself for getting the opportunity. Unfortunately some things happened.”

Although he declined to explain what happened, Joseph said the reaction after his report pushed him to speak out.

‘Reporting misconduct should never bring threats’

After raising concerns about s*xual misconduct and workplace safety, Joseph said people pressured and intimidated him. Consequently, he warned that such responses silence victims.

“I can’t get too into the details of exactly what that was because it’s already a legal issue right now,” he said. “But getting fired or blamed or shamed or threatened simply for reporting sexual misconduct or safety threats at work is not okay.”

Moreover, he said fear and power imbalance often prevent victims from speaking within the entertainment industry.

Joseph says he wants to support other victims

Therefore, Joseph said he chose to speak out to reach others who feel afraid. Ultimately, he wants victims to know they are not alone.

“I know that there’s a lot of other people out there who have been afraid to speak out, and I understand,” he said. “If that’s you, I see you.” For now, Joseph said he will share updates as the legal process continues. Meanwhile, Will Smith has not issued a public response to the allegation.
