Tinubu Unveils Electric Tricycle Empowerment Initiative for Youth

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Labour Minister Dr. Muhammad Dingyadi, inaugurated the Electric Tricycle Empowerment Initiative in Abuja. The program aims to reduce transport costs, lower pollution, and expand youth employment.

Cleaner Mobility and Environmental Goals

Tinubu explained that the initiative aligns with Nigeria’s national energy transition plan. Moreover, the electric tricycles are expected to cut transport costs by 40% and reduce the country’s carbon footprint.

Focus on Informal Youth Employment

Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande said the program represents a new chapter for Nigerian youth. He highlighted that it targets informal sector youth, complementing broader government inclusion efforts.

Milestone for Sustainable Development

Permanent Secretary Dr. Maryam Keshinro described the launch as a milestone guiding young Nigerians toward innovation, sustainability, and long-term economic prosperity.

Supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda

Joseph Samuel, Director of General Service, noted the initiative supports the Renewed Hope Agenda. In addition, it creates green jobs and addresses unemployment while advancing Nigeria’s clean transportation and climate goals.

NATOMORAS Endorses the Initiative

NATOMORAS President Usman Gwoza praised the program as a symbol of hope, cleaner energy, and improved income for riders. He also urged government support to ensure nationwide implementation.
