Wike-Backed PDP Faction Denies Supporting Tinubu’s Re-Election Bid

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party backed by former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike denied claims it would support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. As reported by ALO360 the group stated clearly that the opposition party would field its own candidate.

Spokesperson Issues Firm Denial

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze addressed journalists as spokesman for the Wike-backed PDP faction. Consequently he rejected the rumours without hesitation.

“The PDP faction backed by Nyesom Wike will not support President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The party will field its own credible candidate to contest the election” Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze declared.

Moreover he warned members against any form of speculation that suggested otherwise.

Wike’s Influence Guides Strategy

Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike continued to shape the faction’s direction. In addition his loyalists kept firm control in several key states.

Therefore the denial ended confusion and reinforced the group’s independent stance within the PDP.
