Maren Morris openly criticized Donald Trump’s administration, stating she isn’t worried about losing fans over her political opinions.
In a TikTok video, the country music star shared her frustration with Trump supporters and the current political climate.
Morris called out voters who supported Trump in past elections, describing him as a “dementia-ridden, diaper-clad, cornball.” She added that these voters “bamboozled” and expressed little sympathy for members of the “MAGA” movement who now feel let down by their leader.
“This is literally what happens when you vote for losers,” Morris said in the video. She acknowledged that politics has become more intertwined. With the country music industry since her rise to fame with hits like My Church.
Although Morris disappointed by the increasing politicization of the genre, she remains committed to sharing her views. “If you don’t agree with me and can’t enjoy my music because of my opinions, that’s totally your choice,” she said.
Reflecting on her journey, Morris admitted that speaking out has come at a personal cost. “I’ve sacrificed a lot—my mental health, financial stability, and even family. Because I’m deeply uncomfortable with the strange status quo in country music. But I’m only here for a few revolutions around the sun, so I’ll keep standing up for what I believe in.”
