Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, declared that the 2027: no vacancy in Aso Rock, North will vote 100% for Tinubu, assuring full northern backing for the President’s re-election bid.

The governor made the assertion in Abuja during the official unveiling of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) national headquarters.

He recalled a foundational political agreement established between northern and southern leaders in 1999.

According to him, the informal agreement mandates rotational presidency with two consecutive terms for each region.

Furthermore, Governor Yusuf stressed that equity and common sense require all northern stakeholders to respect the power-rotation pact.

Governor Cites 1999 Power Rotation Agreement

Addressing political leaders and delegates at the event, Governor Yusuf emphasized the necessity of political stability.

He noted that former President Muhammadu Buhari completed two four-year terms representing the North.

Consequently, he argued that fairness dictates allowing President Bola Tinubu to complete his second term in office.

“In 1999, there was a mutual agreement between the North and the South,” Governor Yusuf stated.

“Buhari served two consecutive terms, so we must respect this mutual agreement in 2027,” he added.

In addition, the governor praised the administration’s performance across economic and developmental sectors.

Political Realignments Ahead of 2027 General Elections

The declaration marks a major political statement as regional blocs organize strategy ahead of the next general elections.

Political analysts view the governor’s endorsement as a significant boost for President Tinubu’s coalition in Northern Nigeria.

Furthermore, the Arewa for Asiwaju movement plans to establish grassroots offices across all nineteen northern states.

Meanwhile, opposition parties continue consulting to build counter-coalitions ahead of the upcoming presidential contest.

Finally, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed that northern voters remain committed to supporting President Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
