BREAKING: Access Bank appoints Ifeyinwa Osime as Chairman

Access Bank Plc has appointed Mrs. Ifeyinwa Osime as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors.

Osime will be succeeding Mr. Paul Usoro, SAN, who retired on January 29, 2026, after completing his regulatory term.

The announcement was made by Access Holdings Plc in a corporate filing dated February 2, 2026.

As a subsidiary of Access Holdings, Access Bank continues to align its leadership structure with regulatory requirements and strategic priorities.

Leadership Remarks

The Group Chairman of Access Holdings, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, commended Mrs. Osime’s extensive experience and unwavering integrity.

He expressed optimism that her leadership could steer the bank toward greater success.

“Mrs. Osime is a seasoned and principled leader who deeply understands the bank’s strategy and values,” he said

“Her dedication to the bank’s vision and mission positions her to drive sustainable value for shareholders and stakeholders alike.

Under her leadership, Access Bank is poised to achieve its goal of becoming the most respected African bank globally.”

Aig-Imoukhuede also acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Usoro, praising his leadership, commitment, and significant impact on the Group.

He emphasized that Mr. Usoro remains an integral part of the Access family.

The appointment of Mrs. Osime marks another milestone in Access Bank’s leadership succession planning.

Key Background on Mrs. Osime

Mrs. Ifeyinwa Osime brings over 20 years of expertise in law, corporate governance, and board leadership to her new role. She joined the Access Bank Board in November 2019 as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Before her appointment as Chairman, she chaired the Board’s Human Resources and Sustainability Committee, as well as the Governance, Nomination, and Remuneration Committee. Her leadership experience extends to serving on the boards of Coronation Insurance Plc, Coronation Life Insurance Ltd, and Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank).

Mrs. Osime’s legal and corporate expertise spans organizations such as McPherson Legal Practitioners, NSIA Insurance, and Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation.
