YouTuber and streamer Kai Cenat back in Nigeria, speculation on $5 million Makoko school project

American streamer and content creator Kai Cenat is back in Nigeria and he’s seen in Lagos, Nigeria. This is sparking fresh discussions online about the real reason behind his trip.

Kai Cenat back in Nigeria

Videos shared on social media show Kai arriving in the city, marking what appears to be his second visit to Nigeria. Fans quickly begins speculating that this visit might connect to the school project he promised to fund for children in the Makoko community.

Back in March 2024, Kai Cenat visited Nigeria for the first time. During that trip, he toured an orphanage and the Makoko Children Development Foundation school. He was deeply moved when he saw hundreds of students crammed into a single classroom. This experience inspired him to pledge support for building a better learning environment through his foundation.

In 2025, Kai took action by investing $5 million into the project during his “Mafiathon 3” livestream. Due to safety concerns and structural challenges in Makoko’s floating ecosystem, the school’s location was later shifted to Yaba, Lagos.

The new school aims to provide free education for children from Makoko, while offering subsidized fees for others.

Although Kai Cenat hasn’t officially revealed the purpose of his latest visit, it has reignited interest in the progress of the school project.
