A young widow broke down in tears during the ongoing “Occupy the National Assembly” protest in Abuja. As she shared her heartbreaking story. She revealed that her husband kidnapped and killed just one year after their wedding. Despite the family paying the ransom demanded by the abductors.

The emotional widow story deeply touched the protesters, many of whom moved to tears by her pain and loss.

“My husband kidnapped, and they killed him after collecting the ransom, just a year after our wedding,” she cried. Lamenting how insecurity has destroyed her family and countless others across the country.

Her emotional testimony added a human face to the protest, which organised to demand electoral reforms, improved governance, and accountability.

In a previous news Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, is leading a protest against the Nigerian Senate in Abuja over the proposed amendment to the Electoral Act.

In a video shared on X by African Independent Television (AIT) on Monday, the former Anambra governor addressed journalists and demanded that the Senate explicitly provide for real-time electronic transmission of election results.
