Actor Yul Edochie has addressed recent false rumors about his father, the legendary Pete Edochie, claiming he had passed away.
The rumors began when a user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a fake story. Alleging that Pete Edochie had died and that Yul had confirmed the news on Instagram.
These claims were quickly debunked, as Pete Edochie and his family reassured the public that the veteran actor is alive and in good health.
To set the record straight, Yul shared a powerful photo of his father on Instagram. Accompanied by a heartfelt message celebrating his life and legacy.
He referred to Pete as “The Lion of Africa” and described him as his lifelong role model and an “Ezigbo mmadu,” which means a genuinely good person. Yul also expressed his confidence that his father will live well beyond 100 years.
You will definitely live beyond 100 years,” he wrote.
In the post, Yul strongly rejected the false reports. And advised the public to ignore any claims suggesting his father’s death.
“To the public, disregard any false news saying Chief Pete Edochie passed away. The Lion of Africa is fully alive, hale and hearty,” he emphasized.
This is not the first time Pete Edochie has been the target of unfounded death rumours.
