Nigerian Army Foils Fresh Attacks as 29 Insurgents Are Taken Down in North-East

Nigerian troops neutralized 29 Boko Haram terrorists in separate operations across Borno and Yobe states. The actions occurred between Saturday and Sunday. Forces from Operation Hadin Kai led the efforts and recovered weapons.

Operation in Yobe State

Troops conducted a precision strike in Lamusheri Village, Gujba Local Government Area. Moreover they acted on intelligence that identified the site as a terrorist logistics hub. Soldiers outflanked the insurgents and engaged them in a firefight.

The clash resulted in 15 terrorists killed, while others fled with injuries. Meanwhile members of the Civilian Joint Task Force supported the operation.

Engagements in Borno State

In Limankara, terrorists attempted to infiltrate a Forward Operating Base. Troops repelled the attack and inflicted casualties on the insurgents. No soldiers died in this encounter. Additionally, in Kukawa, forces overpowered a multi-pronged assault with superior firepower and air support. This action neutralized 14 terrorists.

Recovered Items and Casualties

During follow-up searches in Kukawa, troops recovered 13 AK-47 rifles, 16 loaded magazines, and three handheld radios. However one soldier died in the Kukawa clash. Wounded personnel received evacuation and stabilized in medical care. Equipment sustained some damage from rocket fire.

Military Statements

Sanni Uba, a lieutenant colonel and media information officer for the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, confirmed the successes.

He stated, “Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have once again demonstrated clear combat superiority by decisively thwarting coordinated terrorist attacks in Limankara and Kukawa.”

Uba added that the operations showed sustained pressure on terrorist groups. The military high command commended the troops and urged continued efforts.
